Pluto problem with Pioneer Plaque
It is official - Pluto is no longer a planet - and our solar system, from now on, consists of 8, not 9 planets.
At first this announcement did now not generate much interest in both scientific nor general public. Most people thought that this does not reflect in any way on every day lives of regular people and that the only problem would be to edit some of the old encyclopedias.
However, today NASA announced that they just remembered Pioneer Plaques, message sent on Pioneer 10 and 11 probes in 1972 and 1973. Plaques, designed by Carl Sagan and Frank Drake, are intended to explain to alien life forms who we are and what we are about.
“If aliens find the Pioneer Plaques now, they will see that the solar system is represented by 9 planets which is a mistake since we cancelled Pluto out of the system. For past 24 hours we gathered 147 most important scientists to predict the possible effects of this missinformation and we have narrowed it down to two possibile alien reactions: 1) these humans are idiots! and 2) where is this place actually? So you see, we have to take some action to correct the message that we sent to the aliens 34 years ago. We do not want that our communication with extraterestrial life begins with a fuckup.” said director of NASA.
NASA Pioneer Plaques Correction Project is in preparation. It will consist of either time travel to 1972 or sending engravers in deep space. Both solutions require discovery of a black hole.
