Loose 10 kilos in a day

Low BMI amputee

One of the recent mainstream obsessions recently is the Body Mass Index (BMI). It represents the ration between body height and body weight. The lower it is the less fatter the person is.

Along with the obsession of lower BMI came an obsession to loose weight while retaining the height.

The most practical solution was elimination of unnecessary body parts. For example cutting of limbs or breasts. Lately there is even a trend of eliminating non-crucial internal organs such as the second kidney or second lung. However the biggest effect is achieved with cutting the legs off.

“I was tired of having a high BMI. And of course nutrition and exercise are not an option. I just hate to exercise and gyms are expensive. I do not feel well in gyms. And I love to eat. I gained 22 pounds (10 kilos) just the last summer. So I had to do something about my BMI. All my friends started making fun of my BMI. So I decided to cut my left leg off. And now I can hang out again and I feel good about myself. Also it was much cheaper than paying gym membership or hiring a nutritionist.” said Christine, a 25 year old bank clerk from Ohio.

“I can not afford proper limb elimination. I mean, that’s for snobs. I don’t have money to pay people to cut my legs off. I got a DIY book on it and I did it myself. It was messy since the book suggested I use a bathtub and a very sharp knife and all I had was a terrace and a plastic knife from McDonalds. But I did it. And I feel good about myself again.” said a Margaret, an unemployed mother of three from London.

BMI and limb elimination seams like the latest fab amongst the diet and looks obsessed individuals out there. Just as the other generalization like calorie measurement inspired calorie counting diets now BMI is inspire a whole new subculture of wannabe-low-BMI-people.
