Dysfunctional family fundraising run

Fundraising run

Stuart, a schizophrenic, and his wife, Amanda, an alcoholic, are running around the world to raise funds for improvement of Chinese prisons.

“We were sitting one day watching tv. We took a brake from our regular crazy ass fighting. Our doctor said that as a first step from quitting our fights is to take tv brakes so we always sit down and stop a fight for South Park. Anyway we had a brake and than we realize we can run around the world and raise money for a cause. The South Park episode was about China so we took it as a sign and decided to do something for all those Chinese prisoners and make their life a bit easier.” said Stuart.

Fundraising for charity has been a tradition in endurance sports with most prominent examples with Team In Training fundraising for Leukemia and Lymphona Society or Lance Armstrong fundraising for his Live Strong foundation, but Amanda and Stuart are certainly setting new grounds with their mission.

“In the start I had a hard time running and drinking every day but now I got used to it. I just puke while I run and its ok. My body is working well. It actually helps me run more. Alcohol moves the pain treshhold and Stuarts sickness and medicine help him zone better. We ran an average of 150km a day. Some people told me this is not possible but we do it. Sometimes it is just in circles because we get to messed up, sometimes we follow the sun or the birds and sometimes we take a proper direction.”

Amanda and Stuart are planning to finish their run around the world in 5 years. So far they have raised 10 million dollars and they are hoping to raise another 50 million dollars until the project ends. All the money will be donated to the Chinese government for improvement of prisons.

Good luck to Amanda and Stuart from NewsLose.com!
