Average guy vs Navy Seals - false advertising lawsuit

Joe O’Connell Navy Seals lawsuit

Joe O’Connell has seen the advertising for Navy Seals and was very impressed. He has played shooter and war videogames all his life and has enjoyed most of the war movies he has seen. He also likes to work out and be fit and always liked team sports. Navy Seals was a natural choice for him so he enlisted.

But after few months he realized he made a mistake and decided to leave the programme.

“I really had no idea. They wanted me to kill people. I thought that all the guns and weapons were for fun, you know, games and stuff… So I played with it but than it was more and more serious and they really started telling me about murder and how I should kill guys. I was like: hey I went to Thailand for a vacation, they are nice guys, I do not want to kill foreigners. I was totally not into killing people.” says Joe.

Joe was very disappointed and has hired a lawyer to sue the Navy Seals for false advertising.

“Joe was mislead by Navy advertising. No where in the career advertisements have they mentioned that he was expected to either kill people or contribute to murdering other people. The copy used in advertising was very skilled in avoiding the essence of Navy Seals (murder and destruction) and visuals were very polished up as well. This means that Navy Seals advertising is offering false information and covering up the most important element. Joe has spent a lot of time preparing for the Navy Seals and also suffered emotional distress when he found out the truth.” says Joe’s lawyer.
